Regional Analysis

Regional Analysis

Whether you are a policymaker, economic developer, real estate developer, or business owner or manager, a comprehensive understanding of your neighborhood, community, or regional population and economy helps you make better decisions. Individual neighborhoods and communities within a region usually differ significantly from one another, so understanding the broader area is simply not enough. Regionomics has completed numerous neighborhood and area studies either on their own or as a part of larger studies.

Case Studies

Motivating successful workforce development strategies. A project for South Side Thrive focused on matching lower-income households living in the South Side of Columbus, Ohio, with better-paying job opportunities. That focus is discussed on the Workforce page. However, a comprehensive understanding of household wages, living situations, age, labor force participation, and housing and housing cost burdens provided important background for the formulation of the workforce strategies. The report is available on the Publications and Studies page.

Analyzing community resources for a major development project. Regionomics was hired by a manufacturer considering the construction of a large facility in rural southeastern Ohio. The analysis included the source and number of potential workers, education, housing, transit and transportation, healthcare, emergency services, and the area’s quality of life.
